Eligibility

Community-based organisations, registered Charities and Not-for-profits are eligible to apply to the Community Clean-Up Fund. 

The Fund supports eligible groups undertaking approved community clean-up activities in the Dubbo Regional Local Government Area (LGA) with no-charge disposal at:

  • Whylandra Waste and Recycling Centre, or
  • Wellington Waste Transfer Station

 

The Community Clean-Up Fund applies only to waste collected during approved community clean-up activities, and includes:

  • General litter and rubbish
  • Waste collected from public spaces, parks or waterways
  • Waste collected during organised illegal dumping clean-ups
  • Vegetation or debris collected as part of environmental clean-ups

 

The following waste types will not be eligible:

  • Construction or demolition waste
  • Waste generated from private property renovations
  • Commercial waste streams
  • Routine household waste disposal
  • Asbestos 

Applicants: Please note

  • Applications are assessed mid-month and are approved by the Executive Leadership Team. 
  • You will be notified of the outcome of your application by the end of the month. No applications will be assessed during December.
  • Applications for clean-up activities that have already occurred will not be accepted. 
  • If your application is successful, Council's Waste Coordinator will contact you to confirm the process. You be issued with a unique one-time use reference number, which must be presented at the waste facility when disposing. You will also be required to provide Council with 'after' photographs of the cleaned area and advise of volunteer's numbers.
